back to school

  • backpack

So I ended up getting a Llama backpack for Lila months ago when they were on sale at Coco Village. As gorgeous as it is, it is probably not the most practical since it’s “spot clean only.” My suggestion is to get a bag that is machine washable and can easily be cleaned. A bag with a pocket on the outside for a water bottle is also a huge plus for accessibility.

  • bento box

We really love the bento box organization because you can fit a variety of snacks and they are all in one place. Huge fan of the Lunch Bots containers because they are low tox, stainless steel, dishwasher safe, and high quality. The dividers have a small space in the bottom so I wouldn’t recommend putting liquids in them!

  • lunchbox

This lunchbox is amazing because you just pop it in the freezer, add the food, and you’re good to go! This lunchbox is very spacious and can fit two Lunchbots on top of one another in addition to snacks.

  • labels

I have raging OCD and I absolutely love labeling everything! These labels are so durable and have lasted through the dishwasher and washing machine for the entire school year!

  • water bottle

So we have tried about 1,394 water bottles and I always find something I don’t like about them. I am a sucker for stainless steel and nontoxic materials and this water bottle is SUCH good quality. It is heavier than most water bottles but feels incredibly sturdy. We have dropped ours and run them through the dishwasher, and they look brand new. Highly recommend!

  • undies

Getting tons of undies in bulk, cause ya know accidents, amirite?

  • socks

Same with socks. Definitely going to stock up and with socks that are the same color. No more stressing about the missing sock that is a different color than the others. It’s also nice to have extras for accidents or if they’re playing outside and their feet get wet.

  • t-shirts

We got a big bulk pack of short sleeve shirts that could get dirty or trashed at school. There will be a lot of messy outdoor play, art projects, etc.

  • long sleeve shirts

Same story with our long sleeve shirts!

  • pants

We are pretty reliable with potty training, but there are days when she can get a bit distracted. Always good to have some back up pars!

  • sneakers

I can’t find the sneakers we ended up getting, but these ones are pretty close to the pair she had last year. Something supportive that can bend allows the foot to move appropriately. I also plan on sending in an extra pair of old shoes she can wear at school too. There would be nothing worse than having an accident and then having to put her shoes back on🤢

  • raincoat

We got a raincoat off of Facebook marketplace, but this is the same one in a different color! It is definitely really light so it would be good to put over sweatshirts but is also great when it gets warm out in the spring/summer.

  • rainboots

Another item we got at a consignment shop, but you can’t go wrong with a pair of rainboots. Every school is different so daily outdoor time will vary.

  • sunscreen

We love all our Pipette products for their super clean ingredients!

  • hat

I will be sending her to school with a baseball hat for the sun. The jury is still out on whether she will keep it on or not🙄

    hat
  • nap mat

Lila is going to a 2.5-hour program so she won’t have nap/rest time. But if your child is, you can most likely pack a pillow, lovey/stuffed animal, and blanket. Oftentimes, they will use the same blankets and pillows for the week and then send them home so you can wash them over the weekend. Check your center’s policies first. If I had to get her a mat, this one would be it😍
